Harley Davidson Motorcycle Helmet
As bike riders, whether we like it or not, crash helmets have to be worn by law and Harley
Davidson motorcycle helmets are proven to save lives.
Unfortunately, crash helmets are often seen by the inexperienced motorcyclist as being
just another expense, and that it is their riding that keeps them safe, not the helmet.
It is incredibly worrying that these people obviously think they are infallible and never
make a mistake! An accident can occur in the flash of an eye, whether it is as a result of rider error, or the
fault of another road user, and the very fact that it often is nothing whatever to do with your skills as a rider
as to whether or not you have an accident at all, suggests that in our ever more car populated roads, any safety
equipment for the motorcyclist should be welcomed.
Harley Davidson motorcycle helmets come in just about every style available and
include half helmets.
Half helmets are basically an open face helmet without the sides, and were popular some
years ago when the straps were leather and covered the ears.
1. Men's Hybrid Ultra Light Classic Half Helmet.
Seventeen percent lighter than pure fibreglass, these Harley Davidson crash helmets are
constructed of a mixture of fibreglass and Aramid to form the outer shell. Available in gloss black, the helmet
straps use D rings for optimal tightness. Tinted face shield and "shortie" visors are available.
2. Women's "Miss Enthusiast" half helmet.
Again finished in gloss black and fitted be means of D rings, this helmet is basically the
same as the men's half helmet, and like the men's half helmet has an antimicrobial and removable inner liner.

Included in the Harley Davidson motorcycle helmet range are open face helmets.
Open face helmets offer that bit more protection than the half helmet. They are similar to
full face helmets but without the chin guard. Harley Davidson offers the following models for men and
women:
1. Men's ¾ helmet with retractable sun shield.
This has an outer shell made from polycarbon and incorporates the one touch system for
raising or lowering the integrated sun visor. The visor itself offers 95% UV protection and has an anti scratch
coating. The helmet also benefits from Harley Davidson's "Advanced Channelling System" allowing air to circulate
within the helmet. Face shield can be fitted without the need for any tools, by means of Harley's "Rapid Fire"
system.
2. Women's Bling Skyline ¾ Helmet.
This open face helmet incorporates a fibreglass shell and D rings, with a deeper cavity
for a lower profile. The liners to the crown and cheeks are adjustable to allow a customised fit. The liner also
has an anti static treatment to reduce "helmet hair" and a notch at the back for a pony tail, so that less room is
taken up inside the helmet and a better fit is achieved.
Harley Davidson motorcycle helmets also include a range of full face
helmets.
Full face helmets offer the most protection as the head is completely encased in the
helmet.
1. Men's Modular helmet with retractable sun shield.
This is a full face helmet which employs a polycarbonate shell with Harley's . "Advanced
Channelling System" to provide ventilation through the helmet. The visor is anti fog and anti scratch treated and
again has 95% UV filtering. A one touch sun visor and removable liner is also standard.
2. Women's Skyline full face helmets.
Designed using a fibreglass outer shell, this full face helmet incorporates all the
functionality of the women's Bling helmet, above.
When choosing a crash helmet, make sure it fits correctly. Measure your head by passing a
measuring tape around your forehead to get the correct size. Bear in mind that some models vary from others, even
if they are the same size, so make sure the helmet is snug, not too tight, and also not too lose. The danger of a
loose helmet is that it can roll forward over your head in the event of an accident, so make sure that it fits
correctly.
If you drop your helmet or have an accident where it gets knocked, the helmet should be
replaced, even if it still looks ok. Damage may not be visible, and a weakened helmet is poor protection in the
event of a serious accident.
